About 2.5 years ago, I developed severe restless hips and moderate/constant pain in my hips and joints, this slowly further deteriorated further into a severe and all encompassing exhaustion alongside the other painful symptoms. I have young children, so getting through the day was difficulties. Sleep at night was impossible due to the constant need to move. I remember sobbing through many nights. The doctors prescribed me tramadol and cocodomol (30/500) to try and control the pain and the restless hips. These meds turned me into a zombie who could hardly function through the day. I stuck with them for months though, praying that my body would begin to tolerate them – I tried other meds of course, to find the ‘best fit’. I found myself falling asleep in the middle of the day due to the meds and unable to complete the many tasks a lone mother of several children needs to keep up with. The meds didn’t help much with the pain at all, and nights were still hopeless and miserable. My breakthrough came as I was researching ‘restless hips’ one night I couldn’t sleep and I noticed comments on the official RLS website in a comment thread about Kratom being a medication that had been successful at treating these maddening symptoms. At my wits end with doctors and medications that were making my life impossible to live, I ordered a sample pack of Kratom. I really had nothing to lose at that stage. I researched side effects as well as the safety of Kratom extensively. That day that I received the parcel was the first day that I was able to function like a proper human again. Kratom didn’t make me sleepy or foggy at all. It didn’t make me ‘high’ and ‘loopy’ like the tramadol did. I was able to function as a mother and in my life. That night, I got my first full nights sleep in months. The next day I did not take any of my prescribed medication at all. Previously I had been attempting to function on only a few broken hours of sleep a night. My life improved dramatically and thus my children’s lives improved. I was eventually diagnosed with ME/CFS, but with the help of Kratom, I wasn’t suffering as badly with it as I could be, as I had been before.

This law will affect me and my family in a profound way, and I don’t want to go back to the way things were before. I also don’t want to be in possession of a product that’s “illegal” either. I’m stuck facing life back on prescription meds that don’t improve my quality of life at all. My children are facing the prospect of having half of a mother again who is so focused on the pain and discomfort that it effects her mood and her ability to parent. I am scared of what I’m facing. I understand the need to ban the chemical highs, but not the need to ban Kratom tea – many many users of Kratom are people like me – who found an answer to their pain, who found a way of living with whatever condition they have. I wish that they wouldn’t take that away from us.

I suffer from severe pain, nausea and vomiting on a daily basis and take several prescribed opiates (Oxycontin, Oxynorm, Tapentadol) as well as anti-emetics to try and control the pain and nausea- often unsuccessfully. These opiates cause many unpleasant side effects and at my current dosage leave me unable to function. I have only recently tried Kratom however I found I was able to function without feeling at all ‘doped up’, my general pain levels decreased and I could reduce my opiate dosage. I also did not need to use a mouth guard at night as I wasn’t grinding my teeth in pain and slept better as a result.

I have been using kratom bought on line from this website for the past year first in powder form and then in capsules.
I suffer Severe neuropathic pain in my hands following surgery four years ago for stenosis.
I turned to kratom when after long term use of prescribed pain killers I discovered they were damaging my liver and did nothing to alleviate the pain.
Kratom is a gentle harmless product which I take from time to time as it takes the edge off the pain for a while.
I am devastated that I will no loner be able to access it from this website as here is no cure for my condition.

I had an accident many years ago, as a result I have sever back pain. I was given codein tablets. I took them for many years and tolerated the nasty side effects. Eighteen months ago I heard about kratom, it changed everything. My pain got better and I did not have any of the nasty stomach effecting side effects caused by codeine.

I must mention I am a health care proffesional myself and I truly believe it is a big mistake to ban kratom.

I have been taking Kratom on and off for chronic neuropathic pain for about five years. It helps a lot and I take it in between taking prescribed pain killers, so that they don’t lose their effect on me.
It’s really devastating that now can’t get it any more and think it should have been excluded from the new law because its a harmless natural traditional medicine.

I have been taking Kratom now for two months. I’ve been suffering with chronic lower back, hip and leg pain for over five years. I have been eating painkillers and climbing the walls at night with pain. Two months ago I stumbled across Kratom on YouTube and it has changed my life so much. I have never felt any high and I skip it if my pain is not bad. My bloody luck, I find this life saver powder only for it to be thorn away.

I suffer from arthritic pain in my joints and can barely walk in the morning. I was taking co-codamol for this but they didn’t work very well and I was concerned about the long term effects; last year I discovered Kratom and it has been a life saver. I live in a damp cold place and suffer with SAD in the winter – Kratom relieved my pain and lifted my mood on the short, dark winter days. I’m devastated that the government have decided to ban Kratom – especially as they have exempted amyl nitrate (poppers), which is described as ‘a drug’ with risks including ‘Fatal ‘sudden sniffing death syndrome’ on their own ‘Talk to Frank’ website. This is completely illogical if this law is really intended to reduce harm – many lives will be made worse by taking away peoples right to use a natural, unprocessed substance that has been used safely for thousands of years.

I was on the doctor drugs for a few years – almost lost my life due to side effects. I had to come off them all fast and that’s when i discovered Kratom. I spent two years in bed due to the side effects of the ‘approved drugs’ from the doctors and depression.

I went from a fully qualified electrician to disabled overnight due to a mistake in a simple knee operation. I’ve never not worked and it was hard. I started writing to find an outlet – and it was great for a distraction.
Since then i’ve started my own business selling soaps and candles. I only started this year so it is early days, but it is great to be earning again. I’ve also written 9 books and published 3.

Kratom gives me 55% pain relief compared to 10% of the approved medicines giving me the opportunity to contribute and enjoy my life once more. I’ve also got raised beds for my small veg plot and I’m enjoying having the opportunity to garden once more. I sit a lot when gardening and making my products, but at least I can do something apart from being drugged up and dazed for the entire day.

My new out look on life and ability to work is due to Kratom and I’m not sure what I’m going to do now it’s banned. I have enough in stock for the next six months but then my future is uncertain. As a side note – I don’t drink caffeine as it makes me dizzy and hyper. I don’t drink alcohol either as it makes me ill after a few sips.

I’ve never got high off Kratom, but it does cut the pain down allowing me to live and sleep for 4 solid hours on a night.

I discovered Kratom about 3 years ago after searching for a natural alternative from Doctors prescribed pain killers of various types for over 20 years
I suffered from Sciatica many years back and never totally recovered and over the years age has taken it’s toll on my body leading to further pain in my joints , hip, legs and shoulders
Kratom was a great breakthrough for me from Doctors pain pills that I’m sure were rotting my stomach and possibly damaging other parts of my body ?
I find Kratom very clean and NON addictive and now it’s been banned I feel I have been pushed back into a corner of Doctors pills only
It’s my body and I and many others should have the right to use this Natural plant, I believe there may also be a bigger picture being painted behind the scenes as Bi Pharma companies wouldn’t want everyone turning to a natural solution to pain and many other ailments that Kratom could help with ?
It’s a shame Kratom is so new to many of the UK people as I also believe that the lack of use and knowledge on how good Kratom is will restrict positive reviews.

I am a civil servant, and have been taking kratom for a couple of years. I was told by an NHS rheumatologist when I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia that I had to make a decision – to give up, or try to carry on working. I chose to work, I am not prepared to rely on state benefits at 47.
I take kratom at work maybe a couple of times a week, at most. It enables my pain to “fade out” whilst having no effect on my productivity. In short, it enables me to reach the end of my working day, rather than having to leave work early due to pain. It keeps me in my job, simple. It has never given me a “high’ or a ‘buzz” like nicotine or alcohol (both still legal). I have never had any issues with addiction, I truly believe it is not addictive. I can’t believe that a plant – which is not psychoactive, addictive, or synthetic – a natural plant, has been blanket banned. It just displays the ignorance of the government, and medical advisors that this is banned but ‘poppers” are excluded.

I’ve suffered from extreme back pain and severe pains in my feet for a number of years. I have been subscribed all of the usual painkillers, including tramadol, gabapentin, naprosyn and pregabalin – unfortunately, the pain relief they offer does not last long as my body just gets used to them after a while.

I started taking kratom in capsule form and find it highly effective in eradicating my foot pain and also thoroughly easing my back pain, as well as helping to calm me down if I’ve had a particularly stressful day at work – like many other users of kratom, I hold down a stressful full-time job, which doesn’t fit in with the government’s definition of a “legal high” user, though I certainly don’t consider myself to be one!

Unlike the prescription medication, kratom does not knock me out and make me feel drowsy and dopey and does not have the nasty side effects of alcohol, which can enhance the symptoms of my depression or make me aggressive.

I think that the government have been particularly irresponsible to include kratom as part of the ban, it provides effective pain relief to a lot of people, has little to no side effects and certainly isn’t a “legal high”, but why would we expect any better from the pig ignorant bunch of politicians that supposedly represent us in parliament?

Hello my name is Nicole and I’m an alcoholic. Unfortunately that small statement is true and I will be an alcoholic for the rest of my life. Sounds grim? Well no longer! Ever since I was introduced to the miracle of Kratom my life has changed in such a positive way that I’m truly amazed, I can, and have put the bottle down.

A very dear friend who has suffered from acute clinical depression for years, told me of kratom and how it may help me in my dire situation. As, he too was introduced to Kratom as a last ditch attempt to live as normal a life as possible. It has also changed his life. As I was so desperate I felt I had nothing to lose. After some research I decided to give it a try. Little did I know that my life could have changed in such a huge way.

I take kratom in a smoothie replacing my usual morning coffee and use it three times a day. As with everything, all things in moderation. Kratom is not a disaster for me like alcohol was, I’d drink all of the bottle then run out within a few hours. I can gladly say I have not had a drink in over a year, gained trust and respect from my family and friends again and I’m happily living the most pleasant ordinary life. lots of will power was needed, but Kratom made my struggle so much easier.

I’m less reactive & more proactive. I have reached a level of happiness in my life I really didn’t think was possible. And yes it’s all down to a beautiful little plant. So a massive thank you to all you guys at KUK, for your help & understanding. I had no problem, as you know, of telling you of my addiction, your support and expertise is something I shall always be grateful for. To class this plant on an equal level of that dangerous rubbish you purchase in those ‘head shops’ is amazingly misguided and short sited. Thank you guys once again for being there. My name is Nicole and I am a SOBER alcoholic

  14. Reluctant Tramadol User Again June 8, 2016 at 11:05 am

I discovered Kratom Tea (with a twist of lemon & honey) about 6 months ago after researching alternative pain relief online & it really was a gamechanger in managing my condition. Have been taking codeine & tramadol for 12 yrs during 2 major abdominal surgeries (all my female repro organs removed) to help resolve my endometriosis & adhesions which are spreading again..the relief I got from day one with this awesome natural leaf shocked and amazed me. I could function as normal without the debilitating back & stomach pain I daily suffer from. God knows what all these yrs of heavy Dr prescribed painkillers has done to my system and thanks to the government I’ll now have to damage my body even more to hold down my job & get through the day..Kratom was truly helping me in a gentle natural way without any nasty side effects and I’m gutted that I can’t use it any more….

I have suffered with chronic neck, shoulder and back pain since my early twenties. I have tried the traditional OTC paracetamol and ibuprofen and both with added codeine and both at the same time. I was also recently prescribed naproxen and 30/500 co-codamol. None of these have provided any worthwhile relief. I heard about kratom at the end of last year and though it took me a few trials to find the right dose and understand the strains, it has provided me with complete relief from all my aches and pains. I was very disappointed to hear about the blanket ban, not just because of, what I see as, an outrageous violation of our human rights, but because kratom was to be included. When I discovered kratom I found kratom.co.uk to be the most reliable and highest quality vendor and I commend them for their efforts to help resolve the impact of this awful legislation. I have signed the petition and asked friends and family to do the same. Anything else I can do to help, I would gladly do so.

Kratom helps me enormously with managing the pain associated with my condition if its not exempted from this ban I will struggle and probably be on synthetic painkillers for the rest of my life, such a shame the government feel its necessary to ban its distribution especially as they tax things like alcohol and tobacco neither of which I use, and both of which are far more dangerous to society than a natural plant like kratom in my opinion.

I underwent a serious spinal operation last September following many years of severe back pain, as a consequence of which I am left with permanent titanium screws in my lower spine and bone grafts to help re-knit the lower vertebrae. The operation was as successful as it could be, however I still suffer lower back pain and I have to take prescribed morphine for pain relief (liquid Oramorph and Morphgesic tablets). The morphine of course has unpleasant side effects and is highly addictive and I have found that Kratom provides natural pain relief and also helps prevent withdrawal symptoms, enabling me to gradually reduce the morphine dosage and hopefully eventually eliminate the need to take it at all. I am very worried that if I can no longer buy Kratom I may never be able to stop taking morphine.

I have been suffering from migraines for about 6-7 years now. I have tried everything including RXs to try and control them even just a little. A couple of years ago they got even worse and I was at risk of loosing my job. I started botox which minimises the frequency but not the pain lethargy etc, when the do flair up. Luckily I found out about kratom but only this last few months and it is the only thing that helps me get through the day. I am absolutely devastated by this ban as I don’t know what I will do without kratom. It allows me too work where as if I did not have kratom I would be off for at least a month at a time which obviously does not bode well with work. Kratom has literally been a life saver for me and also my family as it allows me to keep my job.

Kratom has been the only thing to give me any pain relief or quality of life since my health deteriorated. Have been prescribed medication such as Solpadol, Tramadol, Amatriptyline, and Pregabalin, but, unlike Kratom, they have done absolutely nothing to relieve any pain. It says it all about Britain, and our caring MP’s, that a plant like Kratom, which actually improves people’s lives, is now illegal to buy, yet tobacco and alcohol are perfectly legal.

I have a condition that causes severe chronic joint pain on a daily basis caused by a lack of collagen. As collagen affects everything in the body I am also prone to digestive and reflux issues, severe fatigue but with night pains which can disrupt my sleep, nerve pain, dislocations, skin problems and the list goes on. I am not considered unwell enough to qualify for benefits so soldier on holding down a job. Over the years my GP has given me numerous pain killers but even the strongest tramadol and dihydrocodeine are only effective for the pain for a few weeks before tolerance builds and they either stop working or become addictive. With kratom I can take when the pain is severe usually on working mornings without the side effects of increase in tiredness which enables me to get to work and hold down a job.. Being able to take low doses of kratom 3-5 mornings a week enables me to lead as normal a life as possible without becoming addicted to stronger opiods and without the drowsy feeling that they give making my fatigue worse. I like the green strains the best as they give enough noticeable effects for pain as the red strains but with the increase in focus and energy levels. Without kratom I would be very limited in my abilities to do as much and would spend much more time cooped up at home in pain which has previously led to underlying issues of depression. There is no cure for my condition, I can’t do what I used to do, I have to self manage living with daily chronic pain but kratom gives me hope that I can lead as normal a life as possible without nasty side effects.

First time taking this miracle plant and I’m like a new man. Still not 100% but so much improved. I love the fact its a natural remedy and not man made poison which has screwed me up no end in the past, all unnecessarily I may add. I can not recommend Kratom highly enough especially Bali and Maeng Da. I will be trying some of the other stains, why not. Thank you for the great service and advise from the staff, very much appreciated. If they ever ban this there will be uproar, and I’ll be leading the march. Anyone reading this you have my word, its works and its good for you. Fuck doctors they are drug dealers. Thank you Kratom. Life saver.
